Reflection:

I’m not really sure if I achieved my goal of reading two higher level books, because I don’t know if The Bell Jar is a higher level book. Other then that I did read four book this month so I am happy with that.

I really loved the book The Bell Jar because it is the the point of view of a young women who has just entered the adult world is trying to fit into the role society has set up for her but she is struggling because she doesn’t really understand this new world. This book also looks into the topic of mental health in a totally new light for me and I discovered a new point of view on this subject.

I really hated the book a beautiful compilation of broken because I thought that many of the authors poems were repetitive. I thought that the author didn’t really bring anything new creativity wise, because he used the same style of poetry that has become really popular in the last year and it just felt like his work was to similar to other writers like Rupi Kuar.  Personally I didn’t really like his writing and don’t see the hype behind him.

I decided to read The Cruel Prince by Holly Black to fill the hole that was in my heart after I finished Sarah J. Mass ‘s A Court Of Thorns and Roses series, and I think that is the reason why I didn’t enjoy The Cruel Prince  because the entire time I was reading it I was just thinking about how it wasn’t as good. Putting that aside I thought this was a pretty good fantasy read for many reasons but the main one that stuck out to me was the author talent for description and ability to set a mood and theme in the environment.
